The Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations (Maryland Nonprofits) Standards for Excellence program is the first of its kind in the nation.  Based on the fundamental values of honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, trust, compassion, responsibility and accountability, the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonproift Sector describes how nonprofit organizations should act to be ethical and accountable in their program operations, governance, human resources, financial management and fundraising.
